On September 27, 2018, the Past Area was released, making the entire original game playable, with new content being planned and released in the months and years following.įrom then on, FusionFall Universe worked on developing and supporting FusionFall Retro, while continuing development on FusionFall Legacy in the dark. On August 5, 2018, the Future (Sneak Peek) Area was released, along with missions, nanos, online play and chat. Soon after, with the addition of a Retro section to the forums, the organization rebranded themselves as FusionFall Universe.Ī demo of Retro that included the tutorial was released in the days following August 1, 2017, after database issues hampered the originally intended date. In late December, the FusionFall Legacy team announced the development of FusionFall Retro, which would take the place of the Legacy demo, which was cancelled following Retro's announcement, along with the pre-registration program. However, in mid October, it was announced that the demo would be delayed again, as the team decided to re-built the gameworld to be far more accurate to the original game, and so it could be optimized for players with older hardware. In late September, a character creation program was released by the developers so players could create and pre-register their characters for the upcoming demo. The demo was then pushed back to October. In early September, a trailer for the demo was released, with the release date being moved up to that month.


Numerous devblogs followed, which showed plans to add many new NPC's, areas, nanos, and many other elements to the game. On February 6th, 2015, a FusionFall fan by the name of Devan Baker had gathered together a development team to create FusionFall Legacy.Īt FusionFall Legacy's announcement, the dev team also announced that there would be a demo of the game available on November 23rd.Īn official forum for FusionFall Legacy opened on March 6th, and on March 14th, the first devblog was posted. The organization that would eventually become FFU started with the FusionFall Legacy development team.
